Western + Wild | Spring 2019
Spring is in full swing and there's not much about the magical season I don't adore. From longer days, to the smell of fresh cut grass, to the evenings {finally} barbecuing on the back patio, to the dusty sunny days spent in the branding pen with good friends + great horses, springtime is definitely the best time.

Along with the tulips blooming, the baby calves growing, and the sunshine warming, the spring fashion is full-on trending. Our spring 2019 photoshoot combined some of my favorite current springtime trends with timeless western looks. I couldn't be more in love with how these looks turned out, and I'm beyond thrilled to share the outfits and styles I put together. Below I am going to share a few springtime must-haves. Whether these must-haves are current trends or timeless pieces, these key components will have your spring style looking fabulous, as well as have you feeling your absolute best self!

Bright + bold colors:
If you're reading this, I'm guessing you already know I am ALL about the bright + bold colors. I have a very colorful personality, so I like to express that through my style. Sherbet orange, pink, purple, mustard, and fiesta are definitely the rage this spring, and I'm not mad about it!
When I first put any outfit together, my first thought is, "How can I make this outfit my own?" Meaning, I want it to just "look" like something I would wear... Something that screams my name, and something that is inspiring for my customers to wear, and branch out of their comfort zone.  I will admit, when I laid this outfit out, I thought it was "too much" (even for me!) I decided to give it a try, anyways, and when I put it on, I immediately fell in love. Usually, when I style outfits, it is the other way around (meaning it looks great laid out, but looks ridiculous on!) I worried about the beaded + fringe belt being an overkill, but in my opinion, it ended up topping off this amazing look.
Although these bright + bold pants are somewhat limited to the spring and summer months, you can easily transition this gorgeous belt into the fall + winter months. Imagine pairing this belt with neutral/subtle tones, or better yet, velvet. A statement piece like this has endless versatility.
Outfit details:
The Monroe: High Waisted Trousers, $38

My Sunshine: Beaded Belt, $498
Broken Arrow: Blouse, $65
The Jennings: Tooled Leather Clutch, $285

This button up dress is just fabulous in every way possible. It's a strong color and gives off the perfect spring time feel, without being too overwhelming. It pairs incredibly with our orange "Sunkist" purse, "Turn me Loose" serape wedges, and all our colorful jewels are the icing on top. For this particular look, I am definitely letting my accessories do the talking, but my dress is complimenting the accessories. The dress and accessories are enhancing one another, just as all your outfits should.
Another trait I adore about this dress, is how it could be easily styled down for a more casual look. If I were headed to a summer BBQ, I would style this dress with a white tank, a pair of cut-offs, sandals, and wear the dress open, as a duster. How fun is it that the same dress can totally be styled as two completely different looks?!
Outfit details:
Terra Cotta: Dress, $49
Turn me Loose: Serape Wedges, $78
Sunkist: Orange/Beaded Tote, $628
Sweetheart of the Rodeo: Concho Belt, $725

Wide leg/high waisted pants:
Wide leg/high waisted pants are such a fun trend, and it's definitely a trend that won't be going away anytime soon. If you haven't jumped on the trend and it's one you're "not so sure you can get on board with" - I highly encourage you to take a step out of your comfort zone and give it a try! There are so many great options to choose from.. Whether you want to go with a fun and sassy crop pant, or you're feeling more of a sophisticated trouser, wide leg/high waisted pants are a great fit for all shapes and sizes. If you're still not 100% convinced, try starting out pairing the pants with a longer blouse/top. It will hide the fact that the pants are high-waisted, but still gives off a fun/unique look, and it helps you to venture out of your comfort zone.
If you're "serape obsessed" like I am, these pants are calling your name. They have the perfect variety of colors for spring, with just enough sass and spunk for all our gals with bold personalities. Calm the pants down with a neutral top for a classy and effortless look. You won't find a better match made in heaven than this top with these pants!
 Outfit details:
Colorado Crystal: Crop Palazzo Pant, $125
The Dakota: Tan Tank Top, $25
Animas: Fashion Hat, $328

This look is a hard one to top, in my opinion. One of my favorite factors about this look is that is could be worn anywhere! The rodeo, the office, a work meeting, date night, girls night, a concert, and so on. The options/occasions are truly endless. These wide leg pants compliment where they should, and hide any imperfections. The wide leg detail has just enough drama (aka, it's wide enough to be recognized, but not over the top) and the khaki color can be paired with just about any color of top. This look is topped off with a concho belt and some gorgeous jewelry, giving this look the ideal western vibe.
Outfit details:
Boss Babe: Khaki Trousers, $45
The Dancehall: Bodysuit, $45

Mustard wide leg/cropped pants.. YES PLEASE! These little cuties are full of charisma and sunshine. The crop style is perfect for warmer days, the width of the wide leg detail is just right, and the options of styling these pants are endless. It doesn't get much better than this look, paired with booties and our embroidery tank - but these pants would be equally as adorable paired with sandals and a graphic tee.
Outfit details:
Sonora: Mustard Crop Pants, $46
The Lariat: Embroidered Tank, $39.50
Mercy Me: Booties, $275
Box Elder: Fashion hat, $297

Say hello to the Jennifer flare jean by Kimes Ranch. Although these bad boys are perfect for riding and keep their shape, they look just as good styled for a night out, or a more "dressed up" look. Take the "dress jean" and "riding jean" out of your closet. Combine your jeans into one pile by starting with the Jennifer. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Outfit details:
The Jennifer: Flare Jeans, $160
Western Uncomplicated: Hoodie, $73

Bodysuits:
Bodysuits are such a great option for that clean, upstanding look. Nothing is worse that a shirt that bunches and you have to continuously tuck it in, or worry about your shirt making lines. Bodysuits are another trend that can be tricky to get on board with, but once you do, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Bodysuits are a game changer!
Outfit details:
Boss Babe: Khaki Trousers, $45
The Dancehall: Bodysuit, $45
The Chelsea: Coral Necklace(s), $460+
Sweetheart of the Rodeo: Concho Belt, $725

Serape:
Serape is a year-round staple around here, but it's never more fitting than in the spring. Serape gives off that fun + fiesta vibe and it's just the right amount of western chic. There are so many variety of patterns of serape, so if you think serape is too loud or too wild for you, don't rule it out just yet! I am convinced one of these looks below will completely steal your heart and turn you into an avid serape fan!
Here we go again with the wide leg/cropped pant trend.. this time in a perfect little jumpsuit! These serape jumpsuits are as comfortable as they are cute + sassy. I'm feeling all sorts of fiesta vibes in these cute little numbers! They have a stretchable/elastic waist band, two side pockets, and the cutest open back. If these are a little too loud for you but you love the idea of them, throw a denim jacket over them to calm it down a bit, like Danielle and I did!

Heaven Help Us: Denim Button Up, $39.95

Statement Accessories:
If there's one thing you can never have enough of, it's good, strong accessories. Invest in your favorite accessory and build your outfits around that piece. Invest in the pieces that won't go out of style and can be transitioned from season to season. Your outfits can be entirely built around your favorite necklace, your dream purse, or a fabulous hat. I strive to live off the motto: quality over quantity. Instead of having eight purses you switch out from time to time, invest in one you truly love that goes with everything.
